Gymshark London Fit Out

Gymshark, London Fit out

J&C recently completed an internal fit-out with integrated lighting behind Linit glass for Gymshark in London that showcases both innovative design and exceptional craftsmanship. The project, which involved designing, supplying, and installing the glass, was executed on a tight timescale—only 7 weeks from initial enquiry to completion on site! Despite the time constraints, the project demonstrates the impressive versatility of the Bespoke Toughened Safety Linit U-Profile glass. The glass was carefully designed to fit seamlessly around an opening intended for a TV screen, allowing for a clean, modern aesthetic that blends form with function.

The lighting incorporated into the installation further enhances the futuristic appeal of the Gymshark store. Positioned strategically behind the glass, the lighting adds a dynamic, eye-catching element to the space. This thoughtful design not only highlights the glass but also provides the store with a sleek, contemporary feel that aligns with Gymshark’s cutting-edge brand. As a result, the fit-out creates an engaging atmosphere that draws customers’ attentions in, making the store a standout destination in London.

Look forward to our upcoming blog, where we will dive deeper into the exciting effect that the integrated lighting will have once the television is installed. We are confident you will find the end result as wonderful as we do, so be sure and check back with us in the future for the update.

Broadmarsh Car Park , Bus Station & Library

Broadmarsh Car Park and Bus Station

Here, we take a look back at a fantastic project completed during a challenging Covid lockdown. The Broadmarsh Car Park and Bus Station project was a major success. This mixed-use, multi-storey car park provides 1,200 parking spaces spread across 6 levels. The facility also includes a modern bus station and an interconnecting link bridge. The new structure replaces the previous, outdated car park and bus station.

The design for this project was nothing short of spectacular. SGP Architects created an innovative façade, making great use of various LINIT Glass products. The result was a striking barcode effect on the building’s exterior, which added a unique and eye-catching visual element.

The project utilized several types of glass, each chosen for its specific properties and aesthetic appeal.

These included:

  • LINIT 504 (Rough Cast)
  • LINIT Magico
  • LINIT Clarissimo

Each glass type contributed to the overall design, providing a mix of texture, clarity, and light control.

Despite the challenges of the Covid pandemic, the project proceeded smoothly. This was thanks to the collaborative efforts of all involved. Maple Sunscreening played a key role in providing crucial support throughout construction. Galliford Try also ensured that the site ran efficiently and safely during the peak of the pandemic. Their dedication to keeping operations on track was essential to the project’s success.

In addition to its impressive design, the Broadmarsh Car Park and Bus Station is a significant improvement for the area. It offers much-needed parking and a modern transit hub for commuters. We are proud of the result and grateful to all the teams who contributed to making it happen, even in such a challenging time.

Imperial West Building

Imperial West Building, U-Channel Glass Installation

Our glass repair works at the Imperial West Building in London is nearing completion utilizing Linit U-Profiled Glazing for the necessary repair to fulfil our client’s expectations.

The repair features our 504 pattern, sandblasted ( “matt”) series U-Profiled Glass, creating an obscuring frosted effect to the glass plant screen. You can view this series of  U-Profiled Glass and all other colours and types we offer at the link here: Linit

J&C operatives returned to a project completed in 2016 and worked from the BMU, to facilitate a few storm repair works to the glass plant screen located on the top of the building. These repairs were caused by very high winds. We delivered replacement glass for the broken units to the site within 6 weeks from the design’s release.

We believe the resulting look of the plant screen at the Imperial West Building truly helps tie the look together.

South Cambridgeshire District Council building

South Cambridge District Council Building

We have now completed Phase 2 of the Façade replacement project at the South Cambridgeshire District Council building – North Screen #1 complete with new Lamberts Linit  U-Profiled Glass installed horizontally across the façade.

This project was the second replacement screen to be installed at the South Cambridgeshire Council building. This change was made necessary because of some strong storm damage the previous screen had incurred. We sent the U-Profiled glass used to the site within 6 weeks of the site’s design release. The team at J&C Architectural worked to ensure that all standards were met and that the impact on any people using and occupying the building was kept as minimal as possible.

The team accomplished this with careful planning to avoid unnecessary disruptions and ensure a smooth installation process.

The replacement resulted in a sleek, clean, modern look for the façade and the building overall, leading to a happy clientele. This transformation, as shown in the testimonial provided below, was well-received and appreciated by clients. The end results speak for themselves!

‘Great communication and excellent customer-focused service. The whole team was professional
throughout and continually worked to a high standard. J&C was a pleasure to deal with and any
issues that arise were dealt with promptly and with minimal impact to our building users.
They often when above and beyond to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.‘     –   South Cambridgeshire District Council
